Guntersville Alabama is a wonderful place to live, when lynyrd skynyrd created the song "Sweet Home Alabama" They
must have had Guntersville on their mind. Throughout this paper I am going to state facts about Guntersville to prove why it
is the best place to live.
Guntersville Alabama is located in Northern Alabama where it is surrounded by a beautiful lake that covers 67,900
acres of this earth. Guntersville lake is known as the best Bass lake in Alabama. Guntersville is known as a vacation spot
for outdoorsmen, and campers due to its beautiful clean lake. The lake also has the tennesee river running through
it. Guntersville Lake received its name from the town of Guntersville. The town was names by John Gunter, a Scottish settler
and adopted member of the Cherokee tribe, who established Guntersville one year after the American Revolutionary War ended.
Guntersville has many other attractions other than Gunterville lake, it is home to several parks and playgrounds
including the David Crockett Visit Lions Club Park, Tom Jackson Park, Big Spring Creek Small Wild Area, Lake Guntersville
State Park, and Guntersville Municipal Park. Golf lovers can spend their hours at the Stoney Mountain Golf Course and Beach
Mountain Golf and Arcade. Shopping can be enjoyed at Finlay Plaza Shopping Center, South Gate Shopping Center, and Lake
Shopping Center. Some of Guntersvilles strengths are its property taxes, renting, and educated adults. There is also a
public library. Most the weather is warm, like in the 80s. Guntersville has cold winters, beautiful springs, and great
falls. Guntersville has four definite seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall. Every once in a while there is snow, but not
much.
Guntersville sounds beautiful! I would never have guessed that based upon the name. You should keep that in mind when writing about Guntersville and perhaps add something like this:
"Despite its name, the women of Guntersville are not known the world over for their gunts. In fact, Guntersville has nothing to do with gunts. Our women, although Rubenesque, are no more gunty than the typical Alabaman woman. I mean, if that’s your thing, you can find Guntersville women with gunts as big as Bear Bryant’s hat. I’m just sayin’ that we have skinny girls as well. Guntersville actually got its name from…" then you can go into the John Gunter story.
