Will I receive a citation in the mail?

A couple of friends of mine were at a golf course hanging out when the cops arrived. A couple friends of mine ran away and escaped while me and my other friend were caught. I only had like a half can of beer while my other friends had much more two days ago and they asked us questions about the things we were doing. They threatened that they would send us citations in the mail for minor in possession and trespassing property. My friend was 17 and he got sent home in a police cruiser and the police searched my car and found nothing. They then gave me a breath a lyser test and it came out perfectly fine and they let me drive myself home. My question is is do you think the cops will follow this up and actually send me a citation in the mail? The other two that escaped I had to rat out because they knew there were more people. One has been approached by the police because he already has a past record of mips and the other one with a clean record has not been contacted.
Scared you didn’t it? Behave yourself and you’ll have no worries. You probably won’t be cited this time because if you were they would have done it already. They usually don’t send them in the mail.

I would say if you were going to get a citation, they would have given you one at the time, and would also mail one too.

I’ve never heard of someone receiving citations in the mail unless it’s for traffic violations (caught on camera running a red light, etc.) Otherwise, you’re cited then and there. Anyone heard/experienced something different?

It is the officers descretion of what they want to do. Most likely they were just saying that because there were others who ran. But you may still get a citaion in the mail.
