Upon visiting the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire to peruse his golf course ambitions , he bad-mouthed poor Michael Forbes , a local resident , by saying that Mr Forbes’s humble abode was a complete pigsty and that he lived in an absolute mess. The billionaire has offered Mr Forbes nearly half a million to buy his property outright , therefore , throwing money around like confetti just to get his own way. Other people have rallied round , to buy small pieces of land from Michael Forbes , to slow down procedures. Good for them I say.

There are just too many golf courses in Scotland and its a shame when an American wants to waft over and start building golf courses and the amenities that will surely follow when its not their turf. Scotland has Gleneagles – so why does it need another golf course. The old sweet chestnut given is it will create jobs – oh yeh more like
executive homes for the very rich will be built to go with the golf course.
I say leave that land to nature.

You are correct. Anyone who thinks that any local people, or in fact any working person in the UK , will be allowed to play this golf course then they are living in cloud cuckoo land.
As for the houses being built, again does anyone but an idiot believe they are for the local population or for anyone outside of the £1O Million a year earner.
Regarding the hotel, will Joe Bloggs be allowed anywhere near it? Yes, when pigs can fly.
Now for the so called jobs. I would bet anyone that all the top jobs are already earmarked for people already in the Trump organisation. What the good people of the area will be left with are bottle washers, maids, waiters etc. The local traders might be thrown a few crumbs but the big contracts will already be in place with the multinational giants. This is capitalism at its worst.
