can i force the golf club next to my property to put up netting?

Posted on January 20th, 2012 by admin

I am worried that a golf ball driven from the golf course behind my house will at the least damage property and at the worst actually hit someone who is in the back yard. The hole in question parallel to my property and I believe that the balls are being driven with too much force will being hooked. This is only a par 3 course.

No you can’t force them to do that.

If you’re so worried about that why did you buy the house there in the first place?

Also since it’s just a par 3 the chances of a ball going into your property are pretty slim especially if you’re not right next to the green itself

Does it bother you that the VA took land that was donated for Homeless Vets and leased it to golf course?

Posted on November 11th, 2011 by admin

a private school, businesses, a theater, etc?

"Los Angeles (CNN) — The connection seems obvious: nearly 400 acres of land set aside to house veterans and thousands of veterans who need a place to call home.

But Los Angeles’ estimated 8,000 homeless vets have been barred from living at the sprawling campus for decades. The West Los Angeles property — some of the most valuable in the nation — was donated in 1888 to "establish, construct and permanently maintain" a branch of a national home for veterans, according to the original deed.

And for nearly a century, that’s what happened: permanent veterans facilities sprang up, including a post office, a trolley system and housing for as many as 4,000 vets, said American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Mark Rosenbaum.

But "beginning with the Vietnam War era, vets were kicked out," said Rosenbaum, who’s leading a class-action suit over the property against the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Now, a generation after Vietnam, the facility’s abandoned buildings are off limits to the veterans they were intended to serve.

"It’s a shame," said Carolina Barrie, a descendant of the heiress who donated the land. Veterans should be "given every single opportunity to rehab their lives — and if they have no place to live, a place to live."

The VA saw fit to lease parts of the property to several businesses. In September, the VA canceled three leases after rising criticism. But other entities remain on the property including a public golf course, a college baseball stadium, a theater and practice fields for the exclusive private Brentwood School."

Pretty sick we need to dig deeper and I am contacting Sen. Cochran Monday, maybe it will do some good but sadly he has the second highest amount donated to him $5.5 million and Reid has $6 million. If the lobbyists have anything to do with it it will be hard to change as they donated $3.5 billion * to the House and Senate last year. The reason McCain, Kerry, Reid and Biden jumped on the TP was due to not wanting to lose that gravy train.

As you can see below McCain has taken almost half a billion, Kerry almost $400 million, Reid’s kids work for lobbyists and Joe’ son has his own company.

You would not believe the care in the Jackson MS VA, I mean what do you expect, eeoc, aa and union. those people need the space and should have it all around the country and also top notch medical care not second class type. It’s just sad. Oh well welcome back and have a great 2011! Long time no ’sea".

Banned off the golf course?? please help..?

Posted on October 23rd, 2011 by admin

ill make this short.. a somewhat new manager at a local golf course recently kicked me off, or banned me from the golf course. His reasons is that i’m stealing and selling drugs on the property.. yet i absolutely do NOT. am i really banned from this public golf course? or are there more steps the manager has to go through to actually get me banned? please help me out. thanks.

btw.. i’m really not stealing or selling drugs…
i believe the only reason she thinks this is because i’m a part time student with no job who is on the college golf team.. so what else do i have time to do except practice practice and practice.. am i right?? i do spend around 4-5 hours on the golf course every day. so you can see how this may change my life.

I like the "find other courses" idea, but I also know that it’s not always that easy. If you’re being honest, there has to be a way to fight this. Isn’t there someone higher on the food chain? If she’s "just" (not meant as disrespect) the manager, there has to be someone in a more important position to help you. Try your golf coach, as well: maybe s/he can explain to the manager what kind of person you are and how she’s mistaken about you.

Golf sales and such are on a downturn… it doesn’t make sense for the manager to just boot you out without giving you due process, at least from an economical standpoint. If it gets around that the manager has a hair-trigger temper, jumps to conclusions about her patrons (who are providing her her ability to make money) and doling out unreasonable punishments it could get ugly if there were an exodus of customers.

Should Golf Courses be Deemed Public Property?

Posted on October 13th, 2011 by admin

And used for community purposes like housing the poor and for public parks and recreation instead of wasting it on dumb white people (and to be fair some sell out minorities) hitting a white ball across acres of land? What a waste.

we have at least FIVE in our city. FIVE GOLF COURSES

Is it illegal to kill an animal if it is destroying property?

Posted on September 30th, 2011 by admin

The animal is wild, undomesticated. It is destroying grass on a golf course. Is it legal to kill this animal?

You’ll have to check local ordinances to be sure, but in many places, yes. Do it humanely. If it is on an endangered species list, then no. If there is a local animal control agency, it would probably be best to call them in instead. If the animal poses an immediate threat, then you’re likely to be fine, but it has to be an imminent threat to people.

RC Car on a golf course… What if those kids sue?

Posted on June 8th, 2011 by admin

If you havent seen youtube video go ahead… Cant those kids sue for destruction of personal property and call police for assault… Another guy on the video comments says no… but i still dont get it… to me assault would be assault… and breaking my stuff would result in them paying for it. Someone explain…

I haven’t seen the video but I guess some kids were on a golf course with an RC car and some players got nasty.

First – destruction of private property is criminal – not a case of suing but prosecution by the police.

Second – if the players got rough – if you are trespassing the owner of the land has the right to remove you and use reasonable force to prevent damage to his property or protect himself – as has any member of the public.

A player can defend himself but not assault others.

Will the police prosecute? Depends on the evidence – video may be useful – but the course may also prosecute for trespass.

How and how much to rent a golf cart for a wedding?

Posted on April 11th, 2011 by admin

I am getting married and it is going to be a pretty big event. The venue is going to be a clearing out on some property in the woods. It would be nice to have a golf cart to transport older folks from the parking area to the ceremony and reception. Basically my question is: 1. Would a golf course rent you a golf cart for a day if it isnt going to be used on their course? 2. How much do you think this would cost?

no a golf course is not likely to be willing to rent you a golf cart, however, golf carts are readily available in most cities and towns for rent through rental equipment companies or even through companies which sell golf carts. many people use them for event transportation so you should be able to do a little google searching in your area to find a place where you can rent them. they are available in both electric and gas opertated one. the electric ones will run all day long if they have been fully charged so you don’t have to worry about fuel costs or smells.

as for the cost, that depends on where you live and what type of cart you rent, but here in virginia where i live, the run about 85 dollars per day.
