"You stole our land" valid argument in 2009 or time to move on?

I want opinions on Native Americans using the "our land was stolen" statement in this era. It sprouts from a local tribe acquiring a golf course that is in a village that has covenants that state property taxes apply to everyone regardless. Well the tribe got the property and now wants to pursue the fact that they are exempt from taxes and should have to pay it on this property. Anyways long story short, people wrote just general comments. Nothing too controversial other then "they knew when they bought it that they had to pay taxes so why fight it" and one person come on and does the "our land it was stolen" followed by a history lesson and how "pale skins" this "pale skins" that and don’t say indian that makes you ignorant. So I guess I’m asking what your views on the subject are and if you don’t mind, your ethniticity.
one native calling white people "pale skins" is not all natives. that’s number one.
secondly, when will the governments of usa and canada STOP stealing native lands? do you think this is history? what little was left to us is still being stolen. try googling some native news sites (native american news, that will give you plenty) and you will see that this is an ongoing struggle with us. the ones who cry "get over it. its in the past" don’t even know their present.

When they’re still treated as second class citizens by a lot of people then yes it is a valid argument.

Well, their land was stolen, but we are at a point were it’s not like the country can give it back. I’m not sure how I feel about this, honestly. Their land was stolen from them so it seems wrong to tax them, but on the other hand I don’t feel like any race should get special treatment. It’s a teeter totter thing for me.
We obviously can’t give ALL of their land back. Impossible at this point. But I don’t feel like enough has been done for them. I mean, there they were minding their own business, and then BAM! Shoved right on out and stuck on crap pieces of land and were massacred constantly.
Ethnicity: White and Native American.

i’m white european, sadly its too late to do anything about the stolen land, but the massacres are hard to forget, i have sympathy but end of the day you have to complain before you buy the land or you don’t have a leg to stand on really

I think they shouldn’t have to pay… Its hard to describe but, they are separate from our government, its like they are a small country… if france purchased a piece of land in america, then it would be a part of france, not america, and then our government would have no claim on it. I think its sort of the same.
by the way im a mutt lol i have multiple ethnicitys, i have Cherokee in both my mother and fathers families, and a few caucasian verities as well.

It’s funny how Americans bitch and moan about Jews stealing "Israel" from the Pals but then have the balls to tell Native Americans to "GET OVER THE STOLEN LAND" thing.

No they don’t have to pay property tax on land that belongs to the tribe, that’s the law.
The problem is with the State that is trying to tax it. They will loose in the end, after they cost everyone a lot of money. Same old story.
Native
=============
Edit
It’s more likely that it is the municipality that has an issue with loosing its tax base not the State.
But the land is now federal land, end of the story.
