…does that mean we should get rid of social security? What about public libraries, the post office, police force, fire department, and public schools? Why don’t we privatize all of them so only those who can afford it are allowed these amenties? Let us not forget about Medicaid and Medicare. Yes, it’s true the right doesn’t want the government telling us how to live. They’d rather leave that to Wall Street and let the whole world be owned by one big giant corporation. They think socialized medicine is such an atrocity because HMO’s and insurance companies have their fingers in everybody’s pies. I’m sorry if the readers think I’m unkind for believing doctors should go into medicine because they want to help people not because they want to live in a McMansion with 18 widescreen plasma TV’s, drive 5 BMW’s, and pontificate their net value to everyone at the country club, the golf course, or on their fancy yachts.
Better yet, what about the military? That’s socialist, too. In fact, the military is communist. I know because I served myself. In the military, they have an agenda by which everyone lives. Nobody is allowed to live where they want. All the propery and businesses are owned by the state, and you forfeit your Constitutional rights by joining. The soldiers are considered government property. My company commander in the service once told me, "Nothing in the military is optional." They even have socialized medicine. I know, I know! How dare you speak ill of those serving our country, bleeding-hearted liberal! Shame on you! You should be sent to Guantanamo Bay and waterboarded! We’ve been using communism to stop the spread of communism in the name of liberty when it was really all about capitalism.
We’re even using our tax dollars to make rich CEO’s of defense companies like Halliburton and Lockheed Martin become richer. How about this one? If socialism and communism are so horrible, then why do we continue bartering with China and outsourcing jobs overthere while there’s still an embargo on Cuba? I can promise the readers China has a longer track record of human rights violations than Cuba or even the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, all we know about socialism is what we’ve been told growing up during the Cold War or what those idiots on Fox News say. They don’t know the difference between actual socialism, Marxism, and communism which is an extreme form of socialism. Let’s hear what your thoughts on this.
Thanks for the tip, Mr. Bob G. I have a job, and I don’t expect you to pay for my material things such as widescreen TV’s, cellphones, and other gadgets and gizmos. Have a nice holiday there, bud!
Wow! It amazes me how brainwashed our society really has become. People still start salivating like Pavlov’s dog when they hear about socialism because they think it’s communism. I just explained one society has services and regulations while in the other one everything is state-owned (including the media.) It appears all I’ve done is summoned trolls.
When you take from one person to give to someone else by force either law or gun that is a form of slavery no matter how you try to spin it. Social Security should have never been forced upon the people of this nation, neither medicare or medicaid – especially since they are all mismanaged and abused by those you are enslaving us to. Instead of forcing these programs on people we should take some time to really find workable solutions to these problems but there is so much hate and spin spewed from everyone that nothing really gets accomplished except the further enslavement of a countries people to ones that don’t produce and don’t contribute in a positive way to society. The real test will come though when everyone who is contributing just stops and there is no more "food" for the machine – maybe then the "do-gooders" and "do-nothings" will see the flaw in their grandiose utopia crap but it won’t be until the doers, producers stop and make you fend for yourself.
