destruction of property charges or pay $250?

Posted on October 31st, 2010 by admin

my family has been going to this lake for ever and it has a golf course. me and a friend went golfing one day, and there was also some damage to the course on the same day. now the lake is trying to blame us for the damage. we either have to pay $250 or they will send this to the prosecutor. what shall i do? any lawyers have any suggestions?
we are minors and this happened in Missouri. what are the possible repercussions?

PAY THE $250!! I’m sure they have enough evidence to even say they are going to take it to the prosecutor. Maybe they don’t, but you have to have an attorney file the motion to have the case thrown out. The cost of a GOOD criminal defense attorney, is usually $250 an hour/ with a mandatory 15 to take the case. YOU DO THE MATH! as to which is the better route to go.

When planting grass seeds in rocky, but moist, soil how important is it to rake out the rocks?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin

I was told I had to rake the rocks out of the soil before planting, but to what extent? Pebbles?

I’m thinking the ones the size of a golf ball or bigger. There was wild grass on this property before, but it was cleared for a house. We’re in the Adirondacks.

Eddie, trust me on this as among other things, I also was in the landscape business too. Also had my own company. Get the larger "rocks" out, you can leave the normal "stone size" rocks or stones as they won’t harm anything. BUT VERY IMPORTANT…you need a GOOD BASE of no less than 3 inches of good top soil on top of everywhere you’re going to plant the grass seed. Once the grass starts growing, you want a good BASE for the grass ROOTS to get good "hold" & keep growing. If you’ve ever noticed sod, it has a good base of top soil it’s grown in & when they "cut" the sod strips, you’ve got a good base of soil cut with the grass roots. I’ve also laid & cut scads of rolls of sod. So, it’s OK to leave you’re little "stones", but just make sure you get that GOOD BASE of rich top soil & you’ll do OK. When you buy your seed, ask them what they recommend you put down when you sow the seed. There are a LOT of new things out I’m not familiar with, but they’ll let you know just what you need. Good luck, Eddie, this sure will be your "working out" time, you’ll be using a LOT of muscles, twisting etc. So you sure don’t need to worry about work outs while you’re doing this!

Pointing a shotgun at children?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin

So now that I’ve gotten your attention with such a direct title, here’s my situation in which this action may be involved.

Halloween is coming. Apparently "Michief night" (The night before halloween) is still common in my area. And the last three years in a row, my house has been hit by a massive amount of toilet paper. I figure I’m a target since I have the most amount of trees in my front yard. Each time it took me no less than two days to clean up and a month of ugly pieces still hanging aftewards. This year, I plan to put a stop to it.

I keep watch in a place where I can see them but they can’t see me (Upstairs bdroom window, with no lighting in room and look down on my yard.) If I see a couple of punks come on my property, I just point an unloaded shotgun at hem and scare them away. Then, they’d never think to hit my, or anyone else’s, propety again after that kind of wake up call.

1. They can’t turn me in without admitting their own crime. Highly unlikely their going to go to the police and say "I was vandalising this guy’s property, and he had a gun." Likewise, they won’t tell their parents. A couple of 12 0r 13 year old punks will run away scared and not wan’t to get grounded. Also, if I’m not the first house they’ve hit that night, their revealing who was behind the other counts as well.

2. Even if they did, it’s my word againt that of self confessed vandal barely teenage punks. Add to that the level of reliability of an account of the witnesses when it’s dark, and their scared stiff. A shotgun, oh heavens no, I was practicing my put, and they must of seen my golf club that I naturally had in my hand when I opened the door. So there’s no serious evidence againt me, but the proof of what they did would be hanging from my trees.

Could I do this, and save mine, and everyone else’s property, if some kids come by again this year?

You could. I’m not sure if you’d want the shotgun anywhere near where you were at when you did it, but sounds legit.

I would have a camera put up in that window myself. And after it catches them throw that first role then bust out the gun.

Whatever you do, do it carefully. There’s no need for the victim of some little punk to go to jail.

Do you have a good business-plan to build apartments, subdivision or hotel etc?

NO expenses for you

We will NOT need the land as collateral.

The Land must be owned outright (TITLED!) and preferably be debt free; also we prefer that your plan is to build at least 20 units.

If you own a development land anywhere across the world (including building permissions) for development of residential, mixed use and/or commercial project developments, we provide 100% development loans and all building materials free of charge based on the fact that you would sign a Joint Venture & Commercial Land Lease Agreement with us.

We offer Full Price for your land (with planning permission, verified by reputable local valuers) and participation in the development profit, generally 30% to 50% of profits. This generally results in the land owner receiving 200% to 250% of full market land value.

Were you bothered by Time Share Guys in Punta Cana?(Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club)?

Posted on October 28th, 2010 by admin

We absolutely loved our stay in Punta Cana. The beach, sea, everything was total HEAVEN!

I just wish someone had warned me about the deceptive Timeshare people! They wear white polo shirts and act like they work for the resort(I heard from other tourists, that they’re at MANY resorts in the DR) My husband and I were polite at first, because we thought Lubens worked for the resort. He told us he was there to HELP us, and show us around. We got into a golf cart. I thought he was taking us on a tour, but next thing I know, we’re at the Grand Oasis Resort meeting with a salesman named Reggie. I said," We don’t want a Timeshare", but he denied it was a timeshare! LOL! I suggested he give us the sales literature for us to read later, but he said they didn’t have any. My husband asked about a website, but he claimed they didn’t have that either. I said,"We’re not putting a "vacation club" on our credit card, while on vacation. We’d have to thoroughly research it." Of course, Reggie chased us, and told us this great deal wouldn’t be available soon. We walked out and demanded a golf cart ride back to our resort. It was a gorgeous day, and we wanted to enjoy THE SEA! Reggie was very aggressive and annoying, and this whole experience wasted 45 minutes of our precious vacation time!

I want to warn other travelers, if these guys offer to help you say ,"No gracious." first, and then just ignore them. Don’t let them waste a minute of your precious vacation time!

Also if you check out "Rip Off Reports" online, as I did. They have loads of people trying to get their money back and sue them. BEWARE! I’d love to hear about others experiences with this obnoxious group. I also don’t understand why other resorts allow them on their property to harass their guests.

It’s not just Punta Cana, all timeshare people are obnoxious. And yes, they are deceptive too. Why do they do this? It’s simple economics. MONEY! Lifestyle Holidays, or anyone for that matter, builds condos that would normally sell for maybe $200,000 as an example. Now, if I get convince someone that they can "own" part of paradise, for only a "fraction" of what it would cost to live here, people give into their emotions and buy. Lets say they sell a one week slot for only $5,000 down and $1,000 per year in maintenance. There’s 52 weeks in a year. So that $200,000 condo was just sold for well over $300,000. And they probably oversell, and they get residual income as well. Actually, its a very smart business model.

Unfortunately, the human element has been taken away. No one wants whats best for you, or cares about your interests or feelings. Bottom line is money. Now why are these sales people deceptive and so aggressive? This is high pressure sales at it’s finest. They know that if they give you any sales literature, or give you time to "think it over" you’re answer will be NO. They sell to your emotions, and they want logic on your part, to be involved what-so-ever.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience in Punta Cana. However, I can assure you that these time share people with their same high pressure deceptive sales tactics are in just about every tourist destination in the world. Punta Cana alone, is not the only victim of Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club

Net vs Fabric. I’m trying to make an indoor golf net. Why does everyone use a net instead of fabric?

Posted on October 25th, 2010 by admin

Are the strength properties drastically different? Or is it just the UV protection that nets are rated for? If I’m looking for a strong fabric that will compare to net strengths, is there a suggestion?

You will end up spending more to make one than if you just buy one. I looked into doing the same thing. If you do make one cheaper it will likely not hold up to repeated practice. Try ebay for some cheap options.

Where can I go to find the strength properties of different fabrics?

Posted on October 23rd, 2010 by admin

I’m looking to use a fabric material to hit golf balls into, but I’d like to use fabric such as polyester or Cotton instead of a net. This will be for indoor use. Where can I go to find out information like "breaking strength" for different kinds of fabrics?

You’re looking for "tensile strength". Below is a link that helps to answer how to measure that.

I want to get a state ID card in FL for golf purposes and live in NY?

Posted on October 20th, 2010 by admin

I own property in FL, but live and have a DL in NY. Is it possible for me to have a NY DL and live in NY and have a FL state ID card?

No, since you have a driver’s license, you can’t get a state ID. New federal law doesn’t allow the same person to obtain multiple IDs. And your driver’s license counts as ID.

What are Michigan’s laws on riding dirt bikes or atvs on private property with out permission?

Posted on October 18th, 2010 by admin

I was wondering what offense i would get a ticket or even my dirt bike impounded on for riding on an aboundend golf coarse.

If you are caught on private property and your bikes are ORV tagged more then likely you will just get a ticket or verbal warning. If your bikes are not tagged chances are good they will get impounded or if your lucky you will get a hefty fine for trespassing and for riding the bikes illegally. You may find this site helpful.

any scooter with an engine under 50cc is considered a bicycle, not a motor vehicle.
