Fort Worth real estate is moderately priced compared to the nation as a whole, offering Texas residents an exceptional value to go along with our friendly and modern city atmosphere. Here you’ll find a pleasant climate, low unemployment, world-class shopping and services — and a number of school districts that are enjoying new facilities.
The real estate market throughout Fort Worth is active and thriving. Opportunities abound right now for moving-up to larger, newer homes. Many new home additions have been started in the past few years and some are still expanding. First time home buyers have been entering the market, inspired by low interest rates and affordable housing. This trend is allowing owners of smaller properties to purchase larger homes, which fuels an ongoing residential upgrade spiral. Like “musical chairs”, people are changing places while still leaving a few empty ones available. Add to this the new homes from the builders along with steady population growth and low cost purchase money, and you have the formula for a booming real estate market that’s expected to continue well into next year.
Dallas-Fort Worth area builders sold 11,196 homes in the third quarter of this year, an increase of nearly 7.5 percent from the previous year. During the same period, about 20,714 pre-owned homes were sold — that’s 2 percent below 2003 levels. The number of pre-owned houses on the market in North Texas grew in September — up 4 percent to 41,594 homes listed for sale. The median sale price of pre-owned houses fell by 3 percent from a year ago to $134,900. Through the first nine months of 2004, there was no real change overall in local home prices.

What is the name of this movie?

Posted on January 25th, 2010 by admin

I remember watching it a couple of years ago, it was on Starz (if that helps) and it was a foreign film (Asian if that helps too.)

I recall it being about a drifter who would break into peoples homes while they were away and live in it, while doing this he would fix up any appliance of theirs that was broken.

The story goes that he happens upon a woman one night that was being beaten by her husband (not terribly but she was slapped around.) Any who he proceeds to save her from the husband by pulling out a golf club and some golf balls he carried around and hitting them in his direction.

He succeeds in knocking him out and she goes with him, thus begins the movie.

They start living together in other peoples homes and on nights when they didn’t have a place to stay, they would spend the night in the streets.

Which brings me to a scene that stuck with me. Because they lived in the city, he could not practice his golf swings for fear of property damage.

So what he does is pull out a golf ball attached to a leather string and ties it to a tree so that it could not go far. She warns him that he might hit it too hard and fly off.

It does just that.

Unfortunately the ball is hit so hard that it breaks the window and hits the man on his way home from work, instantly killing him. Horrified by what has happened they run off from the scene before the police could get there.

I believe that the reason for running off was because that woman’s husband had put out a police report and if they were to find her, they would take her back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I hope this strikes a chord somewhere within because I have been trying to find the name of this film for quite awhile but have failed in doing so.
Everytime I try to search with and plot lines on google I always get hits with adult movies and the sort… Not what I want.
Please help me~
Resale value of log home and manufactured homes?
Posted on January 25th, 2010 by admin
I am looking at a piece of property with a prefabricated home and would like to build a log home on the same lot. What are the resale values for these two types of homes? The closest attraction is a golf course.
Log Homes are much more desirable.
Manufactured Homes are much harder to resell. They start looking sort of trailer-like pretty quickly.
Log Homes are enduring.
do the chinese really own 8% of the US?
Aloha from the 50th State of Hawaii.
>
> At the end of March 2008, Molokai Ranch dba Molokai Properties Limited, closed its doors, layed off more than 120 staff, as well as close all access to their properties leading to the beach indefinitely to the native Hawaiian of Molokai because of 5 years of delays and road blocks in getting their permits approved to develop and expand their resorts. Molokai is the 3rd smallest inhabited island of all the Hawaiian Islands. The Island population is approximately 4000. Molokai properties operates Molokai Lodge, Kaupoa Beach Village, the Kaluakoi Golf Course, Moanalua Gas Station, Moanalua Tri-Plex Theater, Cattle Rearing, and the Company’’s Island Maintenance Operation. The relation this story has to China is that Molokai Ranch is said to be owned and operated by foreign investors from China who contracts the management work to Molokai Properties Limited. People in Hawaii are questioning whether or not a foreign investor can be held accountable for closing most of the critical infrastructure and business holding on island, as a way of getting back to the people of the Island who oppose any further development on the Island. If foreign investors can create this type of Chaos on a small island in Hawaii, can you imagine impact China will leave on the United States when they dont get what they want ??????? Just a little fruit for thought.
>
I’ve never heard that before so I find it doubtful. Also, anytime ANY ONE entity is the main employer there can be chaos. Imagine the plight of coal miners whose lives were completely controlled by coal companies and their "stores". It has nothing to do with China.
Just food for thought, 20-30 years ago, people were saying the same thing about Japan owning the US. It’s a "chicken little" thing, I think.
"You stole our land" valid argument in 2009 or time to move on?
Posted on January 25th, 2010 by admin
I want opinions on Native Americans using the "our land was stolen" statement in this era. It sprouts from a local tribe acquiring a golf course that is in a village that has covenants that state property taxes apply to everyone regardless. Well the tribe got the property and now wants to pursue the fact that they are exempt from taxes and should have to pay it on this property. Anyways long story short, people wrote just general comments. Nothing too controversial other then "they knew when they bought it that they had to pay taxes so why fight it" and one person come on and does the "our land it was stolen" followed by a history lesson and how "pale skins" this "pale skins" that and don’t say indian that makes you ignorant. So I guess I’m asking what your views on the subject are and if you don’t mind, your ethniticity.
one native calling white people "pale skins" is not all natives. that’s number one.
secondly, when will the governments of usa and canada STOP stealing native lands? do you think this is history? what little was left to us is still being stolen. try googling some native news sites (native american news, that will give you plenty) and you will see that this is an ongoing struggle with us. the ones who cry "get over it. its in the past" don’t even know their present.
What is a good small vehicle for traveling in large, private property?
Posted on January 25th, 2010 by admin
I’m looking for something to use for yard work and pleasure cruising with guests on about 140 acres of wooded, hilly land in West Virginia. I won’t be farming, but I will have a guest building, etc. I want something comfortable, but with a little more utility than a golf cart.
A Mule or a Gator – I think they’re 4 wheel drive Gators are made by John Deere. http://www.deere.com/en_US/ProductCatalog/HO/category/ho_gatorho.html?src=2&ysmwa=NPDX8nxiRHwJ6ZArf6mZNfXvXVcQJTZIyzRgzUU5UaQojAhJLpk94ppPihEbBXli Mule is made by Kawasaki http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/SubCategory.aspx?id=15
